Elon Musk unveils Tesla Cybercab self-driving robotaxi
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has unveiled the company's robotaxi, Cybercab, promising it will cost less than US 30,000, and announced plans to bring autonomous driving to its Model 3 and Model Y cars in California and Texas by next year. At the much-anticipated We, Robot event hosted at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, the billionaire arrived in the Cybercab in his trademark black leather jacket, accompanied by a man dressed in a space suit. Human-like robots mingled in the crowd, danced and served drinks to those gathered for the party. In the lead-up to the announcement, analysts were sceptical that Tesla would deliver on its promise, as fully self-driving vehicles had been flagged for nine years and robotaxis for five years. Musk said there were 20 more Cybercabs at the event, in addition to the one he had arrived in, and 50 fully autonomous vehicles for attenders to try out across the 20 acres of space that Tesla had secured for the event.

Uber Eats and Nuro sign a 10-year deal to do robot food delivery in California and Texas
Uber Eats customers in California and Texas may soon have their takeout delivered by a driverless delivery pod after the company signed a 10-year deal with autonomous driving startup Nuro. Today's announcement is the culmination of over four years of start-and-stop negotiations between the two companies. Uber wanted to use Nuro's vehicles to make deliveries in Houston back in 2019, but those plans never panned out. Now, the two companies have struck a decade-long deal to expand robot deliveries to more customers than ever. Neither company would disclose the number of vehicles nor the expected number of customers who will participate in these early tests, but they did say they eventually hope to expand the service area to the greater Bay Area in California.

Getting High School, College Students Interested in CS
If I told you only 4% of all high school students in the U.S. were taking science or math classes, you'd be aghast. If 96% of students were not getting science or math classes, you could reasonably argue it does not exist in any practical sense. Over the last few months, several reports provided new insights about U.S. high school computer science (CS): California and Texas are two largest states based on U.S. population, but we can't generalize to everyone based on those states. We don't have data on who is taking CS across the U.S., due to our state-centric, decentralized model of primary and secondary school education. California and Texas are among the leaders in implementing CS education.
